Life is about Choices
- Separate what you want from what you do not want
- Focus on what you want
- Guard against being distracted
- There is abundance in everything
- Dare to want big things in your life.
Life is about choices. These four words hold the key to whatever you want to do in life. Ponder deeply on them and take your stand. As a child, you choose to obey your parents. You are well guided. You learn there are pitfalls and you are shown how to avoid them. As a teenager, you are directed where to turn or which groups to join, what pastimes are healthy.
Your choices guard you against falling into dangerous habits like smoking, actions that may lead you into drug addiction or ways to make optimum use of your time. Look back on the acquaintances you made in school. Colleagues you grew up with. Identify those who made it. How did the guys who took the teachers’ words seriously end up? Where are those guys who used to say they are smarter than the teacher? Think back again, in your life, remember when you chose to go the extra mile; when you stretched yourself a little bit beyond your comfort zone? What did that earn you? A couple of dollars more than your entitlement or an unexpected opportunity? Life is always about choices. We choose to live graciously or we choose to slave. We choose to be winners or we choose to be losers.
What do you choose? What do you want? What are you focusing on? It’s your life. Decide what to do with it.
